Deacon told us about the cross representing love. The cross beam cannot exist without the vertical post. The vertical post represents the love for God, which is the first and most important commandment. The cross beam is the representation of love of neighbor, which is the 2nd greatest commandment. He also told us that love is not a noun, but is an action. We must love in deed. Love is not a feeling. We love by feeding the poor, clothing the naked, and visiting the imprisoned, or lonely.
