Deacon told us that the Gospel asks us to take stock in our Christianity. Peter asked Jesus how many times must I forgive, seven times? The number 7 was a perfect biblical number and would seem excessive. However, Jesus tells him 7 times 70, which would be an infinite number of times. He asked, do I need to forgive the driver who killed his daughters cousin. He does. Some years ago, the Pope visited the man who attempted to kill him, and granted forgiveness. However, he did not ask the Italian government to release him.
