Father told us how many call the Eucharist only symbolic, but Father says it is real, and that many thought the same when Jesus proclaimed it, as mentioned in today's Gospel, Jesus did not back down, but doubled down, and said he meant it, saying "Amen, amen I say to you...", meaning, "Listen carefully, this is important...". We have to hear and believe, that it is the real Body and Blood of Jesus. Jesus said that if we do not "eat His body, and drink His blood", that we will have no part in His kingdom. His Body and Blood is the manna that has come down from heaven.
