Deacon reminded us that John's version of Jesus' feeding of the 5000 was more about the spiritual feeding rather than the physical feeding. It is about who and what really satisfies us. John told us about how so many misunderstand what God really offers us. Deacon told us how the Israelites even considered returning to slavery when faced with the hunger in the desert. Many today still have the same attitude toward slavery. As an example, he told us of our slavery towards technology. If we don't believe him, just take away the cell phone from a teenager, and we will see the latest version of the Exodus.
