February 18, 2018 1st Sunday of Lent Homily by Father Joseph Pearce, C.O. Father talked about the rainbow, and asked if we recall what the rainbow means, or what it stands for. He reminded us that it is a sign of the covenant between God and us. For ancient people it was a reminder of the Great Flood. God promised he would never destroy the Earth again by water. He spoke about how we so easily we take things for granted. It was renewed with Moses as he led the people out of slavery. It was a new covenant with Jesus which we celebrate every Sunday. Father asked if we take for granted the gift of the New Covenant, the Eucharist? |
