Homily-2018-02-11

February 11, 2018 6th Sunday of Ordinary Time
Homily by Father Joseph Pearce, C.O.

Father re-read the 2nd reading for Corinthians, and focused on that. He said eat and drink for the glory of God. Do we? Or do we eat because of emptiness, or gluttony? Do everything for the glory of God. Is our daily activity for the building up of the kingdom of God? Or the building up of our ego, or material things, or our account in heaven? He mentioned the old saying, "Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me." As we all know, that's not really true, words can hurt and bring pain. Do we use our words to praise God and our neighbor, or bring down others?
