Father's focus was on the readings, "Rejoice always..." and "Pray without ceasing." He said many do not rejoice or pray except for occasionally, when they want something from God. They may even feel abandoned by God. The same was true in the days of Jesus. He said, "Why should we rejoice?" He told us because we owe it to God. Isaiah tells us that he has brought to us glad tidings, which means "The Good News".
