October 8, 2017, Twenty Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time Homily by Deacon Dr. Terrence R. Chisolm Deacon told us about "peace" being referred to throughout scripture over 400 times. He told us that peace if very difficult for a lot of us is difficult to achieve. However, wanting and having peace is part of our Christian nature. He brought up some of the recent events that have challenged our peace, including hurricanes, and the latest shooting in Las Vegas. But as Christians, we are the "change agent" that brings the unity of God's peace into the world. As Christians, cannot and will not be silent. If we do not teach the correct ways of God, then evil and darkness will fill the void. |
