Father told us about someone some years ago taking on a study of various religions to see what the predominant characteristic of Christianity. It was forgiveness. Forgiveness is at the heart of Christianity and of other religions as well. Today's Gospel was an example of both sides of it, one giving forgiveness, the other not. He spoke of how if we expect God's forgiveness, that we must forgive those who have hurt us.
