Father asked about Jesus' question, "who do people say that I am?" After several answers, Peter told Him "The Son of the living God, the Christ". He answered correctly, but didn't fully understand yet. Jesus embraces the cross, but not Peter, at least not yet. We also want things smooth and easy, and don't want to embrace the cross.
