April 30, 2017, Third Sunday of Easter Homily by Father Joseph Pearce, C.O. Father says there is no one more blind than someone who refuses to see. We can blind ourselves to think that our way is the only correct way. The 2 disciples on the road to Emmaus were blind and not able to see Jesus, because they only expected a political Messiah. Could not recognize a suffering servant as Messiah. Father says we need to recognize Jesus in the Eucharist, just as His Disciples on the road to Emmaus did in the breaking of the bread. |
