December 6, 2020 2nd Sunday of Advent

Father told us the emphasis in Advent is that the Lord will be coming in the second coming. Isaiah is trying to calm the people to give them comfort in that they were be returned to the promised land. However, they had gotten accustomed to their surroundings, and that they would be uprooting to return to their promised land. That there was the fear of the unknown. We today are having fear of the unknown in today's time especially with navigating the pandemic. Today we need to look around and say, ah, here is our God. We need to know that God is present in our midst.

November 29, 2020 1st Sunday of Advent
Homily by Fr. Agustín Guzmán, C.O., Pastor

Father told us about the meaning of advent. There is a 2 prong approach. One is on the second coming of Jesus, coming on the clouds. He will come again, but we do not know when. We are told that we are supposed to watch, and not be asleep. Father told us that many around us may appear to be asleep, not knowing why they do what they do. We need to do an inventory of what we are about, to see that it is in conformity to Christ. We need to be more in line with Christ than with the world.
